5 Aug 10 - Atoms S.L. Girls U16/1 (2010 Winter)
The Best win of the season. Last Saturday we played our arch nemesis Canterbury Cougars. They have only lost one game this season and that was against us in round 4. Saturday was to be much the same sort of contest, tough, fast and exciting basketball with little margin for error. We led the game mostly by 2 to 6 points and half way into the last half they got up by 2 points. This was to last only a short time as we clawed back the lead and headed further out in front. Some excellent screening by Emily Merry allowed for great penetration in to the key for Em Hosken and Millie. Fast hands in defence and intense guarding by Lotti, had them under extreme pressure all day without every really being able to score freely. Well done girls. Still undefeated in what is shaping to be great season.

Another convincing win on Saturday and we are 7/0 for the season and sitting on top of the ladder. Whilst we are looking good, we will have to keep our wits about us as we play some of the better teams again after the break. Well done girls and enjoy your break.
21st July
A terrific beginning to the season with our very 1st first Division 1 Girls team. Last week we managed to beat, what would be likely to be our toughest opposition by 37 to 27. It was a terrific victory with free flowing offence and a very tight defence. Well done to all of the girls as we are currently sitting on top of the ladder. One game Clear. GO (S.L.)
